Why UET continues to rise in QS Rankings

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UETAR) has been continuing to rise in the QS World University Rankings after they were placed at number two in Malaysia, number 69 in Asia and number 78 in the world. Here are three reasons why UETAR continues to rise in QS Rankings...

The UET Advantage

The advantage of studying with UET, which is affiliated with Tsinghua University and Peking University, is that we provide all our students with a high quality international education. Our curriculum and teaching methods are modeled after those of some of the top universities around the world. We offer an American-style education but without any language barriers that you would find at other English-language schools in China. Our classes are taught by both Chinese and foreign teachers who have been educated at some of the best universities in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Research-Based Curriculum

The University of Energy and Technology’s faculty consists of over 100 full-time professors, over 80% of whom hold PhDs. The curriculum is research-based and interactive, with students taking part in leading-edge research from day one.

Our approach to learning how students learn best

Learning is an ongoing process. We study our students, and then we adapt. Our goal isn’t just to make great engineers, but also lifelong learners. In other words, we want our students to graduate as more than what they were when they came through our doors—but also as more than they thought they could be.

We attract the most talented and motivated students

There’s no denying that competition for space at each of Singapore’s universities is intense. After all, Singaporean students are traditionally some of Asia’s most successful on standardized tests—with a high acceptance rate into prestigious institutions. Our school motto Knowledge is Power, Live your Dreams inspires students to take charge of their futures and make every day count.

Our faculty is among the best in the region.

Our faculty members are world-class experts. They teach students how to think critically and develop skills that will help them succeed professionally. And, as recent rankings from QS show, we’re keeping our competitive edge over other educational institutions in Pakistan and across Asia.

Successful experience, preparation, study abroad - globally ranked degrees.

Year after year, University of Engineering and Technology (UET)’s students continue to push Pakistan ahead on global rankings. UET is ranked 1st among Pakistani universities on Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world rankings, with a score of 2.07 out of 4.0, rising from 87th place last year to 43rd place worldwide.

Our graduates are making a difference

You see, at UET, we don’t just want you to have a job when you graduate. We want you to be able to do your job well. That’s why we work hard at equipping our students with everything they need not only for success but for fulfillment: state-of-the-art facilities and equipment; expert instructors and mentors; and unmatched resources that offer a variety of learning options.

We have made universities stronger by introducing a new benchmark.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that seven top universities have reached a higher level of excellence as new entries in our World University Rankings by Subject, launched last month. This is a huge milestone for us: it means that two years on from launching rankings of universities by subject and region, we’ve now got enough data on a global scale to introduce benchmarks across 24 subjects. So how do they work?

What we do differently – our recipe for success.

Our institute’s foundation is based on both theoretical and practical studies. Practical experience is an important aspect of our courses; so, we encourage all students to participate in industry-based projects. These projects help students put their theoretical knowledge into practice, while also providing them with valuable real-world experiences that they can use as a springboard for future success. A key goal of any educational institution should be helping its students reach their maximum potential.
